VMware.Vim.Folder.CreateVM : restoring vm with VirtualIDEController disks

I've a Windows XP vm with a 10GB IDE disk backed up from a 4.1 vcenter. The config XML contains 2 VirtualIDEController and one of them is the virtual disk controller.

I'm trying to restore it on a 5.1 vcenter using the VMware.Vim.Folder.CreateVM method and it keeps failing.

The error says :

{"The device '2' is referring to a nonexisting controller '5200'."}

2 is the device index in configuration while 5200 is controllerKey wich is equal to the IDE controller key.

I'm sure that its because of the VirtualLsiLogicController since other vm using SCSI controllers are restored just fine. Also, if I try to create a new VM on my 5.1 vcenter,

I'm not allowed to create an IDE disk so I'm really a bit confused here...

Anyone got in a similar situation?
